PUTTING THE "ARTS" IN MARTIAL ARTS

PUTTING THE "ARTS" IN MARTIAL ARTS

Martial arts is an art form and as practitioners, we are to be artists. Hence, a practitioner of martial arts or one who trains in the martial arts is called a martial ARTIST. The result of a painter, sculptor, dancer, or any type of an artist's work is something unique, beautiful, something amazing to witness. Same as a martial artist. Our whole body: Hands, arms, legs, feet, footwork, movement are our tools and paintbrushes. And the environment, the place in which we perform or portray these moves are our canvases in which we show our work. The result, something beautiful for people to witness. How to achieve that? With training…from the constant repetition of the fundamentals and beyond, to the tradition, philosophy, and wisdom within martial arts. Then, hopefully brighten and inspire others with what we do. ~MR. NOLAN TERNURA
"THIS PERSON IS AN ARTIST, AND HE'S BEEN DOING THIS FOR SO LONG. AND HIS IDEAS THAT HE BRINGS TO HIS FIGHTS ARE SO GOOD, YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS THEM." (xXx: Return of Xander Cage director of photography reference to DONNIE YEN)
